Kai Feldhammer works as an interdisciplinary artist and puppeteer.

In his practice he moves between chaos and confusion or: the fields of performance, installation, illustration, film and text. Their projects seek out different ways of (re)telling stories, usually done together with a variety of human and non-human collaborators, always aiming to spark curiosity and wonder, and interweaving the real with the speculative. These narratives are carried by folklore, embodied knowledge and memory, as well as questions about ecological transformation and various ways of listening and belonging.

Kai studies Experimental Art at the University of Arts in Linz and since 2022 is a member of Klasse für Alle, a program of continuing education of the University of Applied Arts Vienna. He is also part of the longterm project Watering Words, an ongoing conversation between three artists and the bodies of water in their respective countries.

They have been awarded the Talent Stipend of Upper Austria and were involved in exhibitions, screenings and performances nationally and internationally such as Klima Biennale Vienna, Rotlicht Festival Vienna, Land Art Movement Biennale Águeda, Upad Theatre Festival Novi Sad and Chicago Short Film Festival.
